    Ingredients

    • 2 large potatoes
    • Olive oil-flavored cooking spray
    • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
    • Minced fresh parsley, optional

    Directions

    • Bring the temperature of the air fryer to 360 degrees. Prepare the potatoes by slicing them thinly using a mandoline or a vegetable peeler. Place in a big dish and fill with ice water until it completely covers the food. Soak for fifteen minutes, then drain the water. Continue to soak for another 15 minutes after adding more cold water.
    • After draining the potatoes:
Place them on paper towels and pat them dry.
Salt the potatoes once they have been sprayed with cooking spray and stirred.
Place potato slices in a single layer on a greased tray and transfer the tray to the air fryer basket in batches.
Cook for 15–17 minutes, stirring and rotating the food every 5-7 minutes, until it reaches a golden brown and crisp consistency.
Add some chopped parsley on top if you like.

    Air-Fryer Potato Chip Tips

Why do you soak potatoes in water before frying?

The natural starch found in potatoes may be drawn out by soaking the potatoes before frying them, giving them a wonderful crunch. This also helps keep them from clinging to one another while in the basket.

Why are my air-fryer chips soggy?

If the chips you made in an air fryer have become soggy, place them back into the fryer for additional cooking. Cooking times will vary according to the temperature of the air fryer. Because of this, our recipes for the air fryer include a wide range of cooking times. You may need to fry your chips longer than the instructions recommend. Start checking the meal after the smallest amount of time possible, then return in a little while if it still needs to finish cooking.

Are air-fried chips healthier than oven chips?

Deep-fried food in oil is more likely to be healthful than air-fried food. However, air-frying reduces the calories and fat that would otherwise be consumed. Therefore, recipes for the air fryer require fewer ingredients than those for traditional frying methods.

What else can I make in my air-fryer?

An air-fryer can be used to make fried chicken, doughnut holes, and jalapeno poppers, along with any other dish that is traditionally prepared by deep-frying. In addition to frying foods, an air fryer may also be used to bake foods such as oatmeal cookies, bread pudding, and even pork chops.
