It easily outperformed Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos.

Taco Bell brought back the Enchirito after a near-decade menu hiatus last year due to a public poll in which it competed against the late, mourned Double Decker Taco.

This year, the chain asked consumers to vote on a new item: Taco Bell’s Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos competed against the Beefy Crunch Burrito. Between March 30 and April 12, more than 950,000 votes were cast (almost 200,000 more than the last fan vote), and the winner was announced.

Give it up for the Beefy Crunch Burrito, ladies and gentlemen. The popular menu item, which includes seasoned beef, Fritos Flamin’ Hot-Flavored Corn Chips, reduced-fat sour cream, seasoned rice, and nacho cheese sauce, debuted on Taco Bell menus 2010. After being discontinued in 2011, it returned for a few short runs before disappearing again in 2018, only seen today.

Taco Bell Rewards members boosted it to victory in a race that began too close to call and concluded with the Beefy Crunch Burrito emerging as the clear favorite, receiving 59.9 percent of the votes. The victory of the formerly retired menu item was primarily made possible by a social-media group dubbed the Beefy Crunch Movement, which persuaded its 66,000 followers to vote every day.

The campaign is now celebrating the return of the Beefy Crunch Burrito to Taco Bell menus at participating locations nationwide in early August.

It’s a terrific day for our campaign since passionate Beefy Crunch Burrito fans worldwide have made their voices heard. We encouraged the burrito’s biggest supporters daily, if not twice daily, to vote early and frequently, and I’m thrilled that the Beefy Crunch Burrito will return thanks to these genuine fans who are more eager than ever to see it return. August cannot be here soon enough!

Taco Bell Fans, You Can Now Vote on Which Discontinued Item To Bring Back to the Menu

Following the rollercoaster ride that was Mexican Pizza, the chain has decided it’s best to let the people determine what’s worth keeping on the menu.

Fast food enthusiasts understand the anguish of seeing their favorite products go from the menu in favor of new arrivals. Taco Bell devotees are infamous for their social media reactions to these losses, which range from Nacho Fries to Mexican Pizza. And on rare occasions, these powerful reactions have resulted in the return of only the items that were gone.

This time, fans will have to compete with one another to have their favorite food back on the menu. Taco Bell is introducing a menu item competition between The Double Decker Taco and The Enchirito. On October 7, one of them will return to the menu for a limited time, thanks to the winner of this fan-run sweepstakes.

An in-app voting process will determine the winning dish. Through October 6, rewards members can cast their daily votes in the Taco Bell app, and either The Double Decker Taco or The Enchirito will be announced as the winner on October 7. After that, it will shortly appear on menus.

We wanted to continue elevating the voices of our most dedicated fans by offering them exclusive access to a unique digital experience that develops brand love, following the love and passion we observed for Mexican Pizza. Nobody understands Taco Bell like our community, so we’re excited to provide them with this in-app voting experience that allows them to have a direct impact on our menu.

So, who will be crowned king? Whether you prefer the Double Decker Taco, a hybrid taco made of a soft flour tortilla layered with beans, then wrapped around a crunchy taco shell filled with seasoned beef, crispy lettuce, and cheddar cheese, or the Enchirito, which dates back to 1970 and is made of a soft flour tortilla loaded with seasoned beef, beans, and diced onions, all rolled up. They smothered with its classic red sauce before being topped with melted shredded cheddar.
